There are two main types of hybrids: full hybrids and plug-in hybrids.
Each operates differently in how they use electric power.

Hybrids can run on electric power alone for short distances, but they rely on the gasoline engine for longer drives or higher speeds.

Electromobiles, or e-cars for short, are the only fully electric vehicles that don't use any fuel. They only run on battery power and due to this, they do not create emissions at all.

Although hybrids are partly electric-powered, they can't be classified as full electric vehicles since they still utilize gasoline engines.

Hybrids combine both low fuel consumption and the reduction of greenhouse gases, but they are unable to eliminate reliance on fossil fuels as EVs do.
